About Eklona
Eklona provides focused preparation for school board, entrance, and government recruitment examinations in both Hindi and English.
The story behind our name
Eklona is named after a guru and his disciple from the Mahabharata, Drona and Eklavya. The name joins the two: Ekl from Eklavya and ona from Drona.
Drona
The guru
Drona, also known as Dronacharya, was the royal guru of the Kuru princes, the Pandavas and the Kauravas, and a master of archery and the arts of war. Arjuna was his most famous student.
Eklavya
The disciple
Eklavya, a young prince of the Nishada forest tribe, longed to learn archery from Drona. When Drona would not teach him, he made a clay image of Drona, accepted it as his guru, and practised before it every day until his skill rivalled Arjuna's.
Eklavya had the will to learn, but no teacher at his side. Eklona is built so that no learner has to study that way, and every Eklavya gets a Drona to guide them. That is our tagline: Eklavya with Drona.
